Additional Services
All of the following services are tools to help you succeed with your prospect/service dog. Providing Pawsable is only responsible for the success of the dogs enrolled in their training programs.
Prospect Finding- $100
Finding a prospect to be your service dog can be overwhelming, we are here to help. First, we will start with our initial interview which helps us determine your needs, activity level and any breeds you already have an interest in. Next, we will give you a list of the best breed options for your individual needs. Once you have decided on a breed/breeds we begin our search for the specific dog. We are happy to look at shelters or breeder whatever is best for you. When looking at breeders we make sure they have health testing on the parents and will perform temperament testing on the pups. We will then reach out to the shelter/breeder and negotiate the testing and price for you. In addition, we evaluate any temperament testing videos of the pups you are interested in. We always have at least two members of our staff individually assess the videos before coming together to make a decision.
“Basics” Training Schedule- $60
Knowing what to train and when can be distressing, but don’t worry with our “basics” schedule you will have everything you need. Commands included in the schedule are name, sit, down, stand, paw, touch, come, heel, sit stay, down stay, place, focus, and leave-it. The schedule doesn’t stop at commands though, it also includes things to desensitize your dog to (grooming and being touched), socialization outings, and public access outings.
Scent Training Schedule- $75
Scent training is crucial to medical alert tasks and we are constantly improving our approach and this multi page schedule with give you step by steps for scent training. Along with each step there is a suggested amount of repetitions. The steps are not the only thing included in this schedule, we also provide information on how to collect and store samples, what items you will need to train, and instructions on how to build the tools we use. These steps will start with how to create value for the scent and continue all the way to night alerts, public alerts, car alerts etc. We utilize double blinds to ensure that dogs are able to pick up on alerts without any guide from their handlers. Alert ranges are determined for each individual through monitoring of measurable symptoms and guidance from doctors. It is highly recommended that this service is paired with our sessions for evaluation and assistance throughout the entire process.
POTS/Syncope Alert Training
Alert ranges are based on measurable symptoms monitored over time and/or information gathered through a tilt test.
Diabetic Alert Training
Alert ranges are determined by recommendation of your medical professional and your specific needs.
